Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work Gypsies at Richardson's fairground on Blackheath, London by Peter de Wint. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,546.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter de Wint have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two boys with a donkey in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,114.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gypsies at Richardson's fairground on Blackheath, London von Peter de Wint zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.546,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter de Wint auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two boys with a donkey im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.114,73).
