Admittedly, works by Peter Cross have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young gentleman erroneously called Duke of Monmouth, facing left in grey coat, lace jabot and blue cloak over his right shoulder, full bottomed wig in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 19,975.00 (€ 32,648.35).
