Despite a disappointment, a good price for Peter Campus
In December 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Boundary; and Crossing, 1984 by Peter Campus for USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,156.25). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Boundary; and Crossing, 1984 is the most expensive artwork by Peter Campus that we have observed at auction so far.
