Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work One Year Old Mountain Gorilla, Rwanda, 1984 by Peter Beard. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 63,000.00 (€ 59,613.93). Admittedly, works by Peter Beard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit One Year Old Mountain Gorilla, Rwanda, 1984 von Peter Beard zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 63.000,00 (€ 59.613,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Beard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 672.500,00 (€ 577.352,34).
