Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Percy French achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March last year. In the British and European Art auction, the work Bogland scenes, a pair the first 14.3 x 20.6cm (5 5/8 x 8 1/8in), the second 12.7 x 17.8cm (5 x 7in). (2) sold for GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,837.30) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Percy French - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Ha'Penny Bridge, Dublin, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,244.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

(2) für GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.837,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Percy French mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Ha'Penny Bridge, Dublin beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.244,11) versteigert wurde.
