Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Penny Siopis could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction, the work Scenery Of The Four Seasons changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,767.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Penny Siopis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Heat and Dust, which sold at auction in October last year for GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,229.27).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Penny Siopis konnte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art wechselte die Arbeit Scenery Of The Four Seasons für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.767,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Penny Siopis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Heat and Dust beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für GBP 30.240,00 (€ 35.229,27) versteigert wurde.
