A top price for Penny Siopis - as previously expected
In October last year Christies in London held the auction A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection, which included the work Heat and Dust by Penny Siopis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,229.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Heat and Dust is the most expensive artwork by Penny Siopis that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Heat and Dust von Penny Siopis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 30.240,00 (€ 35.229,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Heat and Dust das teuerste Kunstwerk von Penny Siopis, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
