Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Promenade Deck: One Plate by Peggy Bacon was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 480.00 (€ 378.34). Admittedly, works by Peggy Bacon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Few Ideas in August this year with an auction result of USD 3,528.00 (€ 3,254.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Promenade Deck: One Plate von Peggy Bacon im September 2006 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 480,00 (€ 378,34) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peggy Bacon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Few Ideas im August diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.528,00 (€ 3.254,91).
