Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life with Fruit Bowl by Peggy Bacon was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 300.00 – 400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 216.75 (€ 203.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peggy Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Few Ideas in August this year with an auction result of USD 3,528.00 (€ 3,254.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life with Fruit Bowl von Peggy Bacon im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300,00 – 400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 216,75 (€ 203,44) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peggy Bacon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Few Ideas im August diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.528,00 (€ 3.254,91).
