The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 23,826.98), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pedro Ruiz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Odontoglossum Harryanum sold at auction in May 2016 with the realized price of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,942.07).
