Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Vermont Farm by Paul Sample. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,320.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Sample achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Good Farming--Good Living in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 241,000.00 (€ 164,079.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vermont Farm von Paul Sample zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.320,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Sample erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Good Farming--Good Living im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 241.000,00 (€ 164.079,52).
