The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,400.00 (€ 47,306.18), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Signac achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Concarneau, calme du matin (Opus no. 219, larghetto) in November last year with an auction result of USD 39,320,000.00 (€ 38,089,702.61).

Die Arbeit Saint-Tropez, Le Port von Paul Signac wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 47.306,18) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Signac erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Concarneau, calme du matin (Opus no. 219, larghetto) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 39.320.000,00 (€ 38.089.702,61).
