The work Sisteron by Paul Signac was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December this year. It achieved a price of USD 8,580,000.00 (€ 7,756,282.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. Admittedly, works by Paul Signac have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Concarneau, calme du matin (Opus no. 219, larghetto) in November last year with an auction result of USD 39,320,000.00 (€ 38,089,702.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sisteron von Paul Signac kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.580.000,00 (€ 7.756.282,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Signac auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Concarneau, calme du matin (Opus no. 219, larghetto) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 39.320.000,00 (€ 38.089.702,61).
