Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Strid on the River Wharfe, Yorkshire by Paul Sandby was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,722.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Sandby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sandby'S Views Of North Wales in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 301,931.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Strid on the River Wharfe, Yorkshire von Paul Sandby kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.722,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Sandby erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sandby'S Views Of North Wales im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 275.000,00 (€ 301.931,72).
