Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ipswich from the Grounds of Christchurch Mansion by Paul Sandby was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The price achieved of GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,222.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Sandby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sandby'S Views Of North Wales in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 301,931.72).

Die Arbeit Ipswich from the Grounds of Christchurch Mansion von Paul Sandby wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.222,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden.
