Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work An Extensive Pastoral Landscape With Figures And A Horse Beneath A Tree, A Riverside Town In The Middle Distance by Paul Sandby for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,359.81). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Online at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Sandby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sandby'S Views Of North Wales in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 301,931.72).
