Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Paul Fordyce Maitland could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20C British Art auction, the work Picnic under Trees changed hands for GBP 1,380.00 (€ 1,553.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Fordyce Maitland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Row In August in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 41,210.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Fordyce Maitland konnte im Januar 2009 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20C British Art wechselte die Arbeit Picnic under Trees für GBP 1.380,00 (€ 1.553,42) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Fordyce Maitland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Row In August im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 41.210,20).
