Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chelsea Embankment, Plane Trees by Paul Fordyce Maitland was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,264.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Fordyce Maitland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Row In August, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 41,210.20).
