Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in New York held the auction Graphic Century, which included the work Two Prints By The Artist by Paul Delvaux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,386.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Delvaux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Miroir in February 2016 with an auction result of GBP 7,317,000.00 (€ 9,375,831.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Graphic Century durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Prints By The Artist von Paul Delvaux zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.386,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Delvaux erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Miroir im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.317.000,00 (€ 9.375.831,98).
