In March 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Misty Evening by Paul Cornoyer. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,200.00 (€ 7,864.91), 70% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Cornoyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The New York Public Library in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 133,000.00 (€ 85,475.58).

Im März 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Misty Evening von Paul Cornoyer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 7.864,91) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Cornoyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The New York Public Library im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 133.000,00 (€ 85.475,58).
