Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Columbus Circle by Paul Cornoyer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,602.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Cornoyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The New York Public Library in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 133,000.00 (€ 85,475.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Columbus Circle von Paul Cornoyer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 8.602,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Cornoyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The New York Public Library im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 133.000,00 (€ 85.475,58).
