This artwork by Paul Citroen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2010. In the Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations auction, the work Metropolis sold for EUR 1,187.50 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Citroen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition in December 2007 with an auction result of EUR 36,250.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Citroen erzielte im September 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations wurde die Arbeit Metropolis für EUR 1.187,50 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Citroen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 36.250,00.
