Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Paul Bril could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work The Temptation of Saint Anthony changed hands for GBP 176,400.00 (€ 206,865.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Bril have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 857,602.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Bril konnte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit The Temptation of Saint Anthony für GBP 176.400,00 (€ 206.865,58) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Bril auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 713.250,00 (€ 857.602,76).
