In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work A river landscape with a fort by Paul Bril. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 119,700.00 (€ 140,373.07), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Bril have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 857,602.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A river landscape with a fort von Paul Bril zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 119.700,00 (€ 140.373,07) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Bril auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 713.250,00 (€ 857.602,76).
