Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work St. Jerome in the Wilderness by Paul Bril for GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,541.97). This price was achieved in the auction Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Bril achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 857,602.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit St. Jerome in the Wilderness von Paul Bril für GBP 11.340,00 (€ 13.541,97) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Bril erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 713.250,00 (€ 857.602,76).
