Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Allegory of the months of January/February, with a view of the Piazza del Popolo, Rome, during Carnival; and Allegory of the months of November/December, with woodcutters in a forest by Paul Bril was auctioned at Christies in New York in January this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Bril - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 713,250.00 (€ 857,602.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Allegory of the months of January/February, with a view of the Piazza del Popolo, Rome, during Carnival; and Allegory of the months of November/December, with woodcutters in a forest von Paul Bril im Januar diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
