Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings: Part I, which included the work Mountainous Landscape With Wildlife Around A Cascade by Paul Bril. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 317,000.00 (€ 280,779.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Bril - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 713,250.00 (€ 857,602.76).
