Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings - Day Sale, which included the work Capriccio of the Via Appia Antica, near Rome, with the Tomb of Cecilia Metella and the Claudian Aqueduct by Paul Bril. The price achieved of GBP 46,850.00 (€ 53,767.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Bril achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 857,602.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings - Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Capriccio of the Via Appia Antica, near Rome, with the Tomb of Cecilia Metella and the Claudian Aqueduct von Paul Bril zur Versteigerung kam.
