Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Sarah Bernhardt by Paul Berthon was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 619.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Berthon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work LA LYRE; and fourteen other works in January last year with an auction result of GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,739.02).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Sarah Bernhardt von Paul Berthon kam im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 619,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Berthon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit LA LYRE; and fourteen other works im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.739,02).
