This artwork by Paul Baudry achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2015. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work French portrait Of Guillemette De Lareinty sold for USD 81,250.00 (€ 76,926.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paul Baudry; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Le petit Saint Jean sold at auction in June 2012 with the realized price of EUR 115,000.00.
