Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Trois Apôtres by Paul Baudry was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in February 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 150.00 – 200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 51.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Baudry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le petit Saint Jean in June 2012 with an auction result of EUR 115,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Trois Apôtres von Paul Baudry im Februar 2013 bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 150,00 – 200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 51,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Baudry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le petit Saint Jean im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 115.000,00.
