Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Schlafender Akt by Paul Basilius Barth was auctioned at Christies in Geneva in March 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CHF 2,500.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of CHF 2,520.00 (€ 1,625.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Basilius Barth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Weg Im Sonnenlicht, 1945 in June 2001 with an auction result of CHF 9,987.50 (€ 6,558.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Schlafender Akt von Paul Basilius Barth kam im März 2005 bei Christies in Genf zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 2.500,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CHF 2.520,00 (€ 1.625,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Basilius Barth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Weg Im Sonnenlicht, 1945 im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 9.987,50 (€ 6.558,94).
