Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Patrick Akpojotor achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2021. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Fela Anikulapo sold for GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,587.17) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 9,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Patrick Akpojotor; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Everyday Hero I sold at auction in March 2021 with the realized price of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,179.13).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Patrick Akpojotor erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Fela Anikulapo für GBP 25.200,00 (€ 29.587,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 9.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Patrick Akpojotor; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Everyday Hero I im März 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 38.179,13).
