Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Indian Art, which included the work Man On A Cane Chair by Paritosh Sen. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 38,200.00 (€ 24,169.57). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paritosh Sen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ahmedabad Scene, which sold at auction in September 2006 for USD 84,000.00 (€ 66,209.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Indian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man On A Cane Chair von Paritosh Sen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 38.200,00 (€ 24.169,57) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Paritosh Sen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ahmedabad Scene beobachtet, die im September 2006 für USD 84.000,00 (€ 66.209,51) versteigert wurde.
