Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Paolo Pellegrin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in November 2021. In the Photographs auction, the work Civilians sift through the rubble looking for survivors following an Israeli air raid. Beirut, Lebanon from Double Blind sold for GBP 6,048.00 (€ 7,100.92) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paolo Pellegrin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Traces of war, 2001-2005 sold at auction in November 2016 with the realized price of EUR 11,250.00.

In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Civilians sift through the rubble looking for survivors following an Israeli air raid. Beirut, Lebanon from Double Blind für GBP 6.048,00 (€ 7.100,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Paolo Pellegrin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Traces of war, 2001-2005 im November 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 11.250,00.
