Apart from paintings by Pang Xunqin and Pang Jiun, a portrait by Pang Dao will be offered in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction from 15 November to 1 December 2021. Pang Dao (B. 1934) is the daughter of Pang Xunqin and the sister of Pang Jiun. All three works were gifted directly from the artists by the collector.

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Pang Xunqin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2021. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Ethnic Girl in Guizhou sold for HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 125,088.60) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pang Xunqin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Roof (Painted In 1977) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 840,000.00 (€ 857,804.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pang Xunqin erzielte im November 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Ethnic Girl in Guizhou für HKD 1.125.000,00 (€ 125.088,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pang Xunqin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Roof (Painted In 1977) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 840.000,00 (€ 857.804,35).
