Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Seated Nude Holding a Mirror by Pan Yuliang. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 6,800,000.00 – 8,800,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 7,300,000.00 (€ 785,955.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pan Yuliang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lady Bathers At The Seashore, which sold at auction in October 2019 for HKD 17,400,000.00 (€ 1,988,794.26).
