Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pan Gongshou could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Landscape After Wang Hui changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,209.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pan Gongshou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscapes in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 145,583.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pan Gongshou konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wechselte die Arbeit Landscape After Wang Hui für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.209,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pan Gongshou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscapes im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 145.583,23).
