Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Clear Running Streams by Pan Gongshou was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 375,000.00 (€ 33,545.49). Admittedly, works by Pan Gongshou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscapes in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 145,583.23).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Clear Running Streams von Pan Gongshou im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 60.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 375.000,00 (€ 33.545,49) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pan Gongshou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscapes im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 145.583,23).
