Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Scenes from the life of a saint by Otto van Veen was worth USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,928.77) to a buyer in January 2009. This price was achieved in the auction The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part II at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto van Veen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture of Rome in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 728,750.00 (€ 817,088.99).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Scenes from the life of a saint von Otto van Veen war einem Käufer im Januar 2009 USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.928,77) wert.
