In October 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work The Pentecost by Otto van Veen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,928.48), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto van Veen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture of Rome in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 728,750.00 (€ 817,088.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Pentecost von Otto van Veen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.928,48) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otto van Veen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Capture of Rome im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 728.750,00 (€ 817.088,99).
