Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Otto Pareroultja achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. In the Aboriginal Art auction, the work Palm Valley sold for AUD 21,600.00 (€ 12,229.10) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Otto Pareroultja; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ghost Gums sold at auction in July 2009 with the realized price of AUD 32,400.00 (€ 18,343.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Otto Pareroultja erzielte im Juli 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Aboriginal Art wurde die Arbeit Palm Valley für AUD 21.600,00 (€ 12.229,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Otto Pareroultja; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ghost Gums im Juli 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 32.400,00 (€ 18.343,65).
