Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Five Dollar Bill by Otis Kaye. The price achieved of USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,402.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otis Kaye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Easy Come, Easy Go in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 514,000.00 (€ 467,527.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Five Dollar Bill von Otis Kaye zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.402,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otis Kaye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Easy Come, Easy Go im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 514.000,00 (€ 467.527,74).
