Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hidden Assets by Otis Kaye was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29). Admittedly, works by Otis Kaye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Easy Come, Easy Go in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 514,000.00 (€ 467,527.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hidden Assets von Otis Kaye im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.483,29) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Otis Kaye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Easy Come, Easy Go im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 514.000,00 (€ 467.527,74).
