Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bid And Ask by Otis Kaye was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,048.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otis Kaye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Easy Come, Easy Go in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 514,000.00 (€ 467,527.74).

Die Arbeit Bid And Ask von Otis Kaye wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.048,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
