Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sleeping Child by Otani Workshop was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 500,000.00 – 800,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 478,800.00 (€ 57,389.49). Other works by Otani Workshop have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April this year by the work without title at HKD 96,000.00 (€ 98,034.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sleeping Child von Otani Workshop im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 500.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 478.800,00 (€ 57.389,49) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Otani Workshop wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April diesen Jahres die Arbeit ohne Titel mit HKD 96.000,00 (€ 98.034,78).
