Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Omiku by Otani Workshop was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 47,880.00 (€ 48,894.85). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Otani Workshop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 96,000.00 (€ 98,034.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Omiku von Otani Workshop im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 47.880,00 (€ 48.894,85) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Otani Workshop mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 96.000,00 (€ 98.034,78) versteigert wurde.
