This artwork by Oswaldo Guayasamin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2018. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Los desesperados sold for USD 237,500.00 (€ 203,513.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Oswaldo Guayasamin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Quito en rojo sold at auction in May 2011 with the realized price of USD 314,500.00 (€ 218,767.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Oswaldo Guayasamin erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Los desesperados für USD 237.500,00 (€ 203.513,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Oswaldo Guayasamin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Quito en rojo im Mai 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 314.500,00 (€ 218.767,39).
