The work Crucifixion by Oswaldo Guayasamin was sold in the Latin America: Modern Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,000.00 (€ 29,416.71), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Oswaldo Guayasamin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Quito en rojo in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 218,767.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Crucifixion von Oswaldo Guayasamin wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Latin America: Modern Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 29.416,71) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oswaldo Guayasamin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Quito en rojo im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 314.500,00 (€ 218.767,39).
