Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A fishing village on the Amalfi coast by Oscar Ricciardi was sold in the Nineteenth Century European Art auction at Christies in London in September 2007. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,584.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oscar Ricciardi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing Vessels Moored At The Bay of Naples, which sold at auction in March 2005 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,359.89).
